Challenge Faced
The right of a child to an education includes the right to learn. Education is critical for the holistic development of children and is essential for physical, mental, emotional, and social development. Education teaches children to be self-sufficient, develop a sense of responsibility, and become contributing members of society. Rural communities require more social services, including educational opportunities.
Approximately 90% of rural communities in India still need access to education. Rural communities with educational facilities are frequently neglected, forcing students to study under trees during the school day. Not having proper study materials, stationery, best school equipment, library, and essential facilities to educate them.
- According to the survey, only 8% of the children studied online regularly, while 37% did not.
- At least 35 million children aged 6 – 14 do not attend school.
- 53% of girls in the age group of 5 to 9 years are illiterate.
- Only 53% of habitation in India have a primary school, and only 20% of those living in India have a secondary school.
- To combat the spread of coronavirus, India's primary and upper-primary schools have been closed for 17 months.
- Only 24% of children in cities and 8% in villages studied online.
- According to a survey, 64% of children in rural India fear dropping out if they do not receive additional support to cope with learning gaps in their curriculum.
Solutions
We are a nonprofit organization that aims to provide free education in Bihar’s rural community. We want to ensure everyone has access to the same opportunities, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status. We are a team of people who believe in the power of education to change lives.
We know that many children in rural areas have little access to education and that many have no choice but to drop out early. Our solution is to build a school where every poor student can get free education. Through this project, we will create classrooms, provide free education from the best teachers, set up a library, and provide school bags, stationery and other facilities to rural students.

Program Description
The Mahila Evam Shishu Kalyan Parishad (MESKP) leads an initiative to reduce school dropout rates among children from low-income families in rural Karnataka, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh. According to surveys, one of the primary reasons for dropping out of school is a lack of funds to purchase stationery, uniforms, textbooks, and school fees. Those children are denied an education and are forced to work to support their families.
MESKPs contact school officials and village families to collect data-based dropouts with the help of volunteers. Children aged 6 to 15 years who require assistance are identified. Following that, these children receive school fees and gifts (stationery, uniform, textbooks, copies etc).
We will provide a Free Education for every needy child because, Education is not a privilege, it is a right!
