In 1998, Kala-Azar disease was spreading very fast in Darbhanga District in Bihar. Because of which more than 100 people have lost their lives. In two panchayat of Singhwada block of Darbhanga district, Kala-Azar was spread very fast due to which more than 60 people were killed. After Contact with the Doctor of Darbhanga Medical College by the Secretary of MESKP, a Free camp was organized in Kathalia which included Mr Ram Baran Chaudhary Civil SDO, Shilajit Singh of BDO Singhwar and CO Naushad Alamad Alam and Darbhanga Medical College came to present In which Dr AN Singh HOD Medicine, Dr Ganapathi Mishra, Dr KMP Verma, Dr AK Bakhari etc. was tested by setting up a Free Check-Up Camp.
In which more than 1500 people were checked up, in which more than 250 people were affected by Kala-Azar, who was immediately admitted to Darbhanga Medical College and treated by MESKP and all were cured.
MESKP met the Civil Surgeon in Darbhanga and DDT was ordered to avoid Kala-Azar in the entire Sinhwada block.
